Meet the hosts and founders of Patents & Prototypes

Eric Hanscom, ICIPlaw, Intercontinental IP, Carlsbad Patent Attorney, Inventing Profit, Patents and PrototypesEric Hanscom:

Eric Hanscom was born in Hawaii, raised in San Diego, and has attended every UC school with “San” or “Santa” in it (which, not coincidentally, are all
the ones with good waves).  An avid surfer since junior high, Eric surfed
his way through college, taking 2nd place in the ASA California State
Championships (along with graduating with High Honor with 2 majors).  He
then rock-climbed his way through law school and was the Chief Managing Editor of the Hastings International and Comparative Law Review.  After winning 3 world championships in kayaking and running a highly successful kayak tour company for a few years, Eric took the bar exam (passing it on his first try over a decade after graduating from law school) and has been an attorney ever since eventually founding Intercontinental IP.  He is a licensed patent attorney, has practiced intellectual property law exclusively for over a decade and is licensed in California state and the 4 federal district courts of California.  He is a life member of Mensa but has never attended any of their meetings and has traveled to 6 continents.  He is married and has a 5 year old son.  When not being a patent attorney, Eric blows off steam by paddle boarding and hanging out with his family.

Eric’s competitive drive is what attracts him working with Entrepreneurs who want to succeed.
